"Remember the ongoing gift of the Holy Spirit that beckons us into the world to do the impossible for God and the gospel..."Pastor David GrousnickWelcome to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Artesia! In 1903, the Church was organized in the small southeast New Mexico settlement of Artesia. Presently, we continue to faithfully serve the growing community now the center of a healthy oil industry, and the home of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center-Pete V. Domenici Training Complex. At FCC-Artesia everyone is welcome to the Lord's table. We are committed to approaching God's people with open, reaching hands of inclusiveness, tolerance, and mutual helpfulness. Our mission goals expand beyond town and denomination in joyful manifestation of the love of God, and witness to the life and message of his son, Jesus Christ.FCC-Artesia is actively involved in support of numerous local social organizations as part of our outreach ministry. These worthy efforts include Grammy's House, the Artesia General Hospital Fund, the Artesia Emergency Relief, and the Black River Center for Learning (a retreat complex located 15 miles south of Carlsbad, NM). Please come visit us-we are conveniently located at 1006 West Bullock Avenue across from Artesia's Zia Intermediate School.A Disciples Identity StatementThe Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) proclaims Jesus as Lord, draws its inspiration from Scripture and the Holy Spirit, witnesses and serves among the whole human family, acknowledges that Christian unity and Christian mission are inseparable, and claims as its particular mission the quest for the reunion of the Body of Christ; celebrating weekly around the Lord's Table for the life, death, resurrection and continuing presence of its Lord.-Kenneth L.
